We go live Tonight!!

The show goes live tonight and will play nightly.  Listen along with our light show on 88.5 FM.  There is no music played on site, only through FM radio.  If driving by, please be respectful of our neighbors and turn off your headlights and do not block driveways.   The songs will play in a different order each night of the week so if you stop by at the same time a different night of the week you will see a different song. There is a special song that will play at the end of the night.  We currently have 14 songs and 13 interludes (sound bites from some of our favorite Christmas movies). The show is about 47 minutes long with the interludes.

Setup Finalized

The show is setup and ready! Three days until lights on for the 2017 show! Excited to share all of our hard work with everyone. Here is a short preview of the show.

2 Weeks to Go!

Only 2 weeks until the show begins!  Lights are going up on the house and now the testing of all the hard work begins.  Plenty of work to do testing out all of our lights and hardware as they work together in the setup.  Lots of time needed to see how our sequences work with the props on the house and make adjustments.  This is a short video of our new Boscoyo 24″ Chroma Flakes and Living Light Show 46″ snowflakes.

 

Finally getting some lights up for our Christmas show.  The mega tree is vertical!   We still need to do some adjusting and additional supports because the ground is so wet the fence posts are coming out of the ground.

Testing and Troubleshooting

Getting closer!!!  We are excited to get more testing and troubleshooting completed.  We have the house lights up and running, fixing wires and adjusting the colors.

Controller Testing

Working through bugs with our new controller and show computer.  We have setup our new control center for the show computer, sound mixer, FM transmitter, DMX control, network, and DMX power injection.  We also started testing our 2 show controllers as well.  Getting closer to Christmas time and we are excited!!

Finally getting to test out all of our sequences with some actual lights!  Have the mega tree, star, mega flakes and 24″ flakes setup and testing.  Here is a clip of one of our interludes between songs.  It is Decking Out My House by the Screen Team, a parody of My House by Flo Rida.  Enjoy!

Sequencing for 2017

For the 2017 season we will be sequencing all of our lights to songs. We are planning on having 12 songs with 11 interludes between them. Here is a sample of one of the longer interludes we will be using. All of our sequences are created with xlights, an open source control program. You can find out more about xlights at www.xlights.org. We hope you enjoy the fun parody performed by Screen Team.

Welcome to Hidden Bay Lights

Welcome to Hidden Bay Lights, our family light show. We created this page to post updates about our Christmas light show and share how we create the show. Christmas 2017 is coming soon and preparations have been underway since March. We are excited to share all of the new things coming to the show this year. We will be adding a large pixel tree with a star, several snowflakes onto the house and biggest of all the show will be synchronized to music and will use 88.5 FM to transmit our show. We have 11 songs (and one special song for the last song of the night) and many interludes being finished up for the show this year. It will be busy getting everything ready but we are excited to share our show with everyone.
